Harriet is a customer focused designer with an entrepreneurial spirit. Over the past 20 years she has played an integral role in design and product development for globally recognized brands in the Swim & Fashion Apparel Industry. She approaches every project with creative vision, collaborative leadership, and thoughtful problem solving. She is passionate about color and pattern and how the right detail can make all the difference when imagining a new collection. In every assortment she strives for aesthetic harmony and  functionality. Her mantra is products with purpose.

Harriet’s first apparel industry job was in the Los Angeles studio of Leon Max where she was introduced to home-grown California fashion. There she learned about line planning and how to merchandise an assortment that can speak to a broad array of customers. After taking a few years off to start a family, she returned to the work force and started her own maternity line, First Comes Love, which brought a new idea into the fashion landscape: Pregnant women as sexy vibrant and active - not only a reliable sector of the women’s apparel market, but also one that was hungry for good design. She designed & developed the line entirely in Los Angeles. Harriet was profiled in Fit Pregnancy April of 2000 and chosen as Designer of the Month at babystyle.com in December of the same year. She went on to partner in opening NOM, Naissance on Melrose - the first pregnancy lifestyle boutique in the country.

In the mid 2000’s Harriet  joined the world famous Los Angeles based swimwear industry. She has worked as Sr Design for an array of the best swimwear brands in the business including WARNACO, Tommy Bahama, and AMAREX/BLEU by Rod Beattie. She worked as a Design Director at Lands’ End where she led the Swim business to 2 consecutive record breaking years - with swim sales topping $200 million both years. Most recently she has been leading the design team for a reboot of the Classic American Swim Brand, Jantzen.

Over the years Harriet has developed relationships with vendors & suppliers both at home and abroad. She has worked with some of the best swimwear & sportswear designers, patternmakers, sewers and producers in the business. She has experience in all phases of design & product development. Professionally she has traveled to Europe, China, South Korea, Hong Kong and India for design & development, factory visits, production finalization and product launches. In addition to styling and line planning, She has a deep knowledge of the textile printing processes and is a print & color fanatic.

When not in the design studio, Harriet can be found going on epic road trips, dancing to live music like no one's watching and concocting the perfect breakfast taco.
